During winter time a lot of birds gather on the Danube from which the most important are: Tachybaptus ruficollis , Podiceps cristatus , Phalacrocorax carbo , Phalacrocorax pygmaeus , Cygnus olor , Aythya ferina , Aythya fuligula , Bucephala clangula , Mergus albellus , and others. These species can be watched along the Danube from December till February.
